Format is Head-to-Head like any regular soccer league. Each week, teams within a local division will be matched up against each other and earn a Win, Loss, or Draw. Each match will be played over a 9 hole round (about 1 hour). Teams will play each other at least 2 times within a season.
Players can play as a 1 person or 2 person team. A 2 person team has an advantage by playing as a 2-person scramble and has a lower cost per person. At least 1 player from each team is needed to play a match. Teams can be made of any gender combination as all teams tee off from the same location.
Scramble format involves 2-person teams where each player on the team hits a tee shot (kick), and then the players decide which shot they like better. The two players then play from that spot. The person who's shot was not taken picks up their ball and moves it to within one cball length of the selected spot
To encourage co-ed and female teams, a team will be given a mulligan for each female on the team. Max 2 mulligans per team. Mulligans are given for each weekly match and do not roll over to the next week. Everyone still tees off from the same location as decided by our female players! Note: winners of our first 2 local leagues and a tournament were co-ed squads!
Each registration includes a premium league soccer ball, built to FIFA specifications, and valued at over $60. Ball is constructed of premium materials for long-life, shape integrity, predictable flight and long distance, Use of a common league ball, as done by the NFL, MLB, MLS, NBA etc, creates a fair competition on a national level based on skill and not equipment.
The team that sinks each hole with the fewest strokes wins the hole. Each hole is either won, lost, or tied by each team. Strokes are reset for each hole. The team who wins the most holes, wins the match. A 9-hole match score example is 4-2, where team A won 4 holes, team B won 2 holes, and 3 holes were tied
Scoring is similar to soccer league, table style scoring. A "Win" is worth 3 points, "Draw" worth 1 point, and a "Loss" worth 0 points. The 2 teams with the most points at the end of the season, advance to a 1 match final to determine the Division Champion!
